VEPMS - Battery Management System

The battery management system (BMS), proven and tested in challenging submarine applications, accepts a wide range DC input (9V-36V or 18V-75V) from either the alternator or the PCU.
The BMS provides two independently trimmable noise-suppressed DC supplies to the vehicle busses fulfilling the power needs of the vehicle systems, and the power needs of the vehicle’s war-fighting or ancillary support systems.

The system constantly monitors and reports both state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) of two independent battery packs (the vehicle batteries and the system batteries).

Charging rates are carefully optimized to prevent over-charging or over-discharging thereby increasing battery life.
A sophisticated process of voltage and temperature measurement combined with coulomb counting of both inputs to the batteries and current outflows ensures availability of an accurate battery fuel gauge.

Complete real-time battery information is available to vehicle crews at all times and may be transmitted to a central command headquarters to monitor fleet readiness.
